So Claire tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm 19 and I'm with Chadwick models in Melbourne and Sydney and IMG worldwide.
I've been represented by Chadwick models for a couple of years, finished school in 2010 and then took 2011 off studying at university to travel and really spend time modelling.
A friend suggested I join Chadwick and give it ago though before I did, I had been approached once whilst driving down Chapel st with my dad and someone yelled at me through the car window then gave me his card. But I didn't think I was really ready at the time as I was only 15 years old.
Where have you modelled overseas? Where's your favourite place?
This past year I have been fortunate to travel overseas with modelling to cites such as Paris, New york, London, Bangkok, Munich and even Palm Springs California!
The city which I enjoy the most would have to be Paris as it was my first experience working and living overseas, I definitely had an amazing time. Despite the language barrier it was actually very easy for me to live there and get around. Everything was so beautiful, it's not like you're spending a couple of weeks there, you have more time to explore and you're not rushed to see everything. So you take everything it in a lot more. I cannot wait to go back this year!
How does Australia compare to the international market? Which do you prefer?
As much as I enjoy working overseas where there are different opportunities working with international brands and plenty of editorial work, I always love coming back to Australia. We have so many talented creatives here in one country its amazing!! I think once you go away and return home you see how lucky and special Australia is. Also while I'm away I'm constantly surrounded by other Australian models that are doing ridiculously well in the international market that help make me feel at home.
Who is your favourite international & Aussie designer?
My favourite Australian designer would have to be Fiorina Golotta for Fiorina jewellery, its all hand made and I like the many quirky pieces you don't see anywhere else and the quality of her jewellery is so high in comparison to others. I seriously spend hours at her store in Armadale!
What big campaigns have you shot recently?
Recently I flew to one of the coolest places I 've been ever, Palm Springs, California for the American Eagle campaign which was shot over 5 days with a lovely team.
Who is your favourite international & Aussie Model?
One of my favourite Aussie models who is doing so well overseas is my friend Rose Smith, we first met backstage at the Chanel Couture show back in July this year (2011). I admire her so much she is so lovely in every way possible, I'm so happy for her and everything she has done in the past couple of years!!
If you could score any campaign throughout the fashion industry world-wide, what would it be and why?
I think my ultimate campaign would be for a fragrance haha. I think this idea came around after seeing Abbey-lee in the 'Flora by Gucci' advert.
What does a day in the life of Claire consist of?
If I'm not working and I'm in Melbourne I'm usually spending as much time as pssoible catching up with friends since modelling has left me travelling quite often.
What form of modelling do you enjoy most? Print? Film? Runway? Why?
I love shooting print especially editorial! I think it's just the most creative you can be, especially if the photographer trusts you and lets you just do your thing instead of giving too much direction. Seeing the results a couple of months later in the magazine is such a proud feeling. I do enjoy film, although I haven't done too much of it just a video with a close friend but I do want to look into it a bit more and will do so maybe this year.
I understand you are about to take a trip to New York? Tell us about that?
Trip to New York includes a whole lot of relaxing and hopefully playing in the snow for a month and then working in the new year as much as possible!
